Interview with Ikechukwu Precious Chiamaka (G.t) – An advocate for decency

Hello fam! How are you all doing?, today’s blog post is an exciting one. Its an interview with a lady that has found her purpose in God and while she’s still in her youths, is using it to serve him confidently and passionately.

Q. Welcome to Thatchristaingirl ma, can we meet you?

G.t. My name is Ikechukwu Precious Chiamaka, i’m also known as God’s treasure(G.t). I am a student of the university of Jos department of pharmacy, i’m a christain, born in a christain home i attend watchman catholic charismatic movement. I’m the second child of my parents.

Q. What do you do ma?

G.t. I am a blogger and an advocate for decency, i’m also a student and my leisure time is used for hosting programs and seminars to educate young girls on need to decent, chased and discreet, and also on relationships.

Q. Wow! How long have you been born-again?

G.t. By the grace of God i gave my life to Christ 21st may 2011 so it has been 10 years.

Q. Ma with the pandemic going on in the world, what spiritual activities have you engaged in to keep remain ever fervent?.

G.t. Well i have been listening to some messages from my favorite preacher Gbile Akanni i also started a campaign against indecency on my platform chit-chat with G.t.

Q. Ma can you please tell us more about your 30-day campaign which will be coming to a close in few days?.

G.t. Okay this campaign was born out of the desire to see our world go back to the place where decency was a norm, in this world we live in, indecency is a norm and decency has become outlandish, decent people are outlandish and not trending . We have forgotten that royalty is decency and modesty is also decency, an average Nigerian girl thinks she needs to show her body to look beautiful so the desire to go back to the drawing board stirred the desire to start this campaign.

Q. Wow!! ma can you share with us the hurdles you experienced when you started the campaign?.

G.t. Actually ma the truth is that there is no campaign against the devil that he will fold his hands and allow you to do it just like that. From the start of the journey we experienced and are still experiencing it but greater is he than is in us than he that is in the world. It wasn’t easy, some of the prayer team members fell ill, some recovered during the journey, a lot of distractions that the devil brought our way but all glory to God.

Q. Halleluyah!! Ma do you see this campaign going beyond Nigeria, to the world?. Do you see it becoming a global campaign?

G.t. Of course ma, anything Christ starts with us he starts with global use because Christ is universal. I see this campaign moving across Nigeria to west africa, south africa and to the other continents across the world at large so very soon it will spread like wild fire.

Q. I pray it is fulfilled in Jesus name.

G.t. Amen!

Q. Ma can you talk about fashion, modest fashion from a personal point of view?

G.t. OK modesty is not about hiding ourselves because our bodies are bad, modesty is about revealing our dignity you know its a man’s job to respect a woman but its a woman’s job to give him something to respect. ( i didn’t know that ๐Ÿ˜Œ). Being modest is about having everything but choosing not to flaunt it, Emma Watson once said :

The less you reveal the more people wonder

So being modest does not mean you should not dress attractive, it means you should cover up those places that need to be covered but still be on point.

Q. Thank you ma, as Christain youths or girls should we follow trends as regards to fashion, modest fashion or should we dress as we feel lead in our spirit?

G.t. The Bible is always the compass we need when we talk about fashion, when we talk about dressing but one quote i like says it all:

Don’t change to fit the fashion, change the fashion to fit you

Q. Ok ma, you said the Bible should be our compass in regards to fashion, but the Bible didn’t set guidelines or give us a dress code so how do we balance that?

G.t. It is true the Bible didn’t give us guidelines on how to dress but the Bible does say let your moderation be known to all men. Titus 2:5 ” to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind and to be subject to their husbands”. Also remember that you will be addressed the way you dress, we are ambassadors of Christ can someone see you and see Christ in you?, the way we dress tells a lot about us, our virtue and goals, everything.

Q. Ok ma can you give some final words to our youths/girls?.

G.t. Modesty is more than just a hemline it is an interior disposition that influences not just our dressing but our thoughts and our actions, it is not about hiding about ourselves(bodies) it is about revealing our dignity. A woman’s most priced possession isn’t her hair or beauty it’s her modesty, be a girl with a mind, a woman with attitude and a lady with class. It should not only be how do people see me?, but how do people see Christ in me?. We are to project Christ to the world, always remember that modesty is elegance, modesty is beautiful and modesty is royalty.

Q. Wow! ok… although indecency is mostly common among women what will you like to say to the men in regards to decency?

G.t. Ok i will tell the men to aid the ladies dress decently and how can they do that?..when they see a lady beautifully and decently dressed she deserves more accolades than the one who excites them sexually so one of the ways they can support decency is to give accolades to decently dressed ladies.

Q. Wow, lovely so ma before you leave can you tell us more about the closing program for the campaign?

G.t. The campaign has been running from 1st august and will be ending 30th august, we will be presenting a two day seminar from 29th-30th august tagged ‘Trends of Royalty’ and in the program we will be having a special preaching on purpose discovery because on e of the reasons people dress indecently is because they have not discovered their purpose, what you are defines what you wear and people you relate with, another reason i believe is because they don’t know the capacity and gifts imbedded in them if they discover who they are, it will help to re-channel their mindsets.

Q. How does one attend this program?

G.t. All you need to do is to join the link on facebook, also it’s a free entry so no fee needed.

Q. Wow!! It has been lovely having you here, thank you so much, we hope to see you here more on the blog and to see more of your campaigns.

G.t. Thank you as well ma, i’m flattered to be here as well as to be asked about my campaign.

Ok fam it has been nice typing but i think my pen is finished ๐Ÿ˜…so see you guys next time, to attend click the link below๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ.https://chat.whatsapp.com/GcytPjUiC2QFL3eK5IoGMQ

The purpose driven life book review. Written by Rick Warren.

Hello family,

How are you all doing ?, i hope you and your families are well? Today’s post is a review on a book i read a while ago titled :The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. I do pray that after reading this you’ll be motivated to start living a purpose driven life in Jesus name. Amen.

‘What on earth am i here for?’ is a question most people ask themselves, a question people who want to find their purpose and fulfill it ask, a question people who know that they were made for more than just living ask. Have you ever asked yourself this question before? I personally have asked the question. What answer did you get after asking the question?. If you didn’t get any answer this post is for you and if you got an answer ,this post is also for you. Rick Warren in his book brings out five things he believes we are on earth for, which are:

  • You were planned for God’s pleasure.
  • You were formed for God’s family
  • You were created to be become like Christ
  • You were shaped for serving God; and lastly
  • You were made for a mission

But is that all we need to know? No not at all. Rick Warren further goes to break down those five purposes into smaller purposes, but for the purpose of this post i will only mention 10 of them

  1. You were by God and for God, you are not a mistake Isaiah 44:2, until you understand this life will never make sense
  2. It’s not all about you, life is really about living for God. Colossians 1:16b
  3. Being included in God’s family is the highest honor and the greatest privilege you will ever receive. Ephesians 1:5a
  4. We discover our role in life through our relationship with others, our community, the church. Jesus has not promised to build your ministry he has promised to build his church that is why the church will outlive this universe and your role in it is very important
  5. God’s ultimate goal for your life on earth is not comfort but character development which is why he wants you to become like Christ.
  6. Becoming like Christ does not mean losing your personality because God has created every one of us uniquely, it simply means changing your character(the sum of your habits).
  7. God doesn’t make junk, he created you to serve him with your SHAPE; Spiritual gifts, Heart,Abilities,Personality,Experience. Which is why you should never ignore your interests because God had a purpose in giving you those inborn interests so think of a way to use them for his glory.
  8. Your ministry is your service to believers while your mission is your service to unbelievers
  9. God wants to say something to the world through you, so you can either become a world-class christian or a worldy christain
  10. The great commission is your commission, if you are part of God’s family your mission is mandotory that is why it is called the great commission not the great suggestion. Matthew 28:19-20.

After reading this i hope you have realized that your purpose on earth is bigger than your career, business, education, spouse and even life itself it reaches up to eternity. I hope you learnt much like i did, if you still want to know more i suggest you go read the book. Thanks for reading and God bless.

Its our birthday!!

July 31st 2019 , the dream to start a blog became a reality. I had just began my journey in the faith and i was looking for people in the same class as i was, people that loved God and loved looking good as well in terms of fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Out there on the internet there weren’t many people that i could connect to ,that was when i decided to be my own person and inspire other young believers on way.

Unfortunately there’s a difference between starting the blog and keeping the blog alive. The blog had been created, it was time to put out content that was to bless people it was a struggle my dear fam๐Ÿ˜ฅ, there were times i gave up on the blog, times i didn’t post at all, there were times i deleted the site as well๐Ÿ˜…. In the midst of all that drama God was with me all the way and finally His will prevailed over mine, and here we are! a year older, much better than we were and ready to bless you all with spirit filled content. Thank you also to all of you (yes you๐Ÿ˜‰)for supporting and reading my posts, i pray the Lord will bless you all in Jesus name. Amen ๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“

New post coming up tomorrow!! ๐Ÿค—

Top beauty tips for the Christian Woman ( Lock down edition)

Hello Fam. I hope we are fine and staying safe. Due to the pandemic we are required to “stay at home and stay safe” but this shouldn’t be an avenue for laying all day in your pj’s and doing nothing. Rather it should be a time to build ourselves spiritually as daughters of Zion, and along put an effort in daily self care and that brings me to today’s blog post. In this lockdown edition I’ll be sharing with you top 8 beauty tips for the Christian woman

  1. Sleep : this might look like the perfect time to catch up on your favorite things ranging from books to talks and also movies but it is important for you to get the required sleep needed by your body and also be able to do day to day activities including bible study and praying.
  2. Exercise : Staying in one place all day is bad for our body, dear sister its more than staying in shape it entails moving our joints and bones to make it stronger.
  3. Stay hydrated: Water is life as the population saying goes, knowing fully well that we need to drink from the river of life to quench our Spiritual thirst, how much more our physical bodies?. Water not only helps in keeping us hydrated it also helps in giving our skin a healthy glow.
  4. Eat healthy : Take foods that are rich in vitamins, minerals like iron and zinc, don’t feed on junk foods.
  5. Bath: As simple as it sounds, most sisters find themselves lazing around and end up just bathing once a day. Sis its time to take care of your body which is also the temple of the Lord so pamper yourself, bath as much as you want.
  6. Exfoliate :From time to time we find dead skin/cells on our body so its best to exfoliate and get rid of them. One major method is the use of the popular exfoliating stone asides Scrubs and brushes so relax you don’t need to order for scrubs here and there. You can also use this time learn home made scrubs(they are all over the internet)
  7. Moisturize: I guess after exfoliating the next thing is to moisture that skin, don’t give the excuse of not going anywhere. Use those toners, eye cream and oils you have. This also speaks to naturalists reading this, it may look like little but that coconut oil or Shea butter will go a long way on your skin this period.
  8. Take care of your hair: The salon may be closed but your hands aren’t, take your time to learn new protective styles, hair do and routines especially to our natural hair community you can avoid a lot of breakages and knots in your hair with that knowledge .

Taking out time to care for ourselves boosts confidence in young Christian Women so don’t just stay home, stay healthy stay beautiful and stay confidence.

Birthday blog post: The journey through a new age

Hello Fam, I hope we are fine and staying safe. My birthday was two days ago (18-04)and although it wasn’t how I imagined it to be (I didn’t expect to celebrate it in a lockdown) it’s was worth being thankful for, I really want to appreciate God firstly for the gift of life and increase to my years honestly this journey is all because of Him. Next I would like to appreciate my family and loved ones that sent their prayers, love and gifts, you all made my day ๐Ÿ˜˜. Thank you

Story time

I started my birthday with a book in my hands (soft copy tho) titled LOVE ME by AISHAT YAKUBU followed by a sound sleep. Lol i finished the book around two in the morning so I had to sleep, by the time I woke up I had received so many messages and calls , it was really a lovely day. It was rounded up by a meal ๐Ÿฝ deliciously prepared by my mom๐Ÿ˜‹.

The journey through a new age

It is often believed that “the older you grow the wiser you become”, although this may not apply in all cases i’ve come to realize that I’m wiser and bolder than I used to be so as I journey in this new age here are five things I would like to achieve

  1. Spiritual Growth: Even as i’ve added a year to my physical age i also wish to grow in my spiritual life. ” But in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen” 2 Peter 3:18(RSV)
  2. To fulfill purpose and establish myself for His Glorification. ” But you are a chosen race a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people that you may declare the wonderful deeds of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” 1 Peter 2:9( RSV)
  3. Becoming a virtuous woman means dedication to both spiritual and physical areas of my life, in the spiritual aspect, building of character is key. Proverbs 31:10-31(RSV) while in the physical aspect self care and my natural hair are goals. “But if a woman has long hair, it is her pride. For her hair is given to her for a covering” 1 Corinthians 11:15
  4. Increased traffic in my blog. ” Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established ” Proverbs 16:3( RSV)
  5. Grace to be productive as an entrepreneur. “You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth ;that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers as at this day” Deuteronomy 8:18(RSV)

Slaying as a believer

In this contemporary world, believer or not, we all want to dress and look nice, but the question is What do we dress good and still portray Christ?. I mean we all want to dress modestly and not end up looking “old or shaggy”. So without beating round the bush I’ll get right into this post.

First of all let’s understand what modesty is before dressing it. Modesty is the action of behaving or dressing so you show your body, attract sexual attention or the fact of not talking much about your abilities or possession(advanced English dictionary) so this means that modesty is not just a dress code its also a virtue, it is beyond clothing its also a mindset. Now that we know the definition of Modesty, how do we dress modestly?

1. We can’t blame the cloth for being immodest : Two people may wear the same T-shirt and look differently in it, one may look loser and the other look tight, in this context do we blame the cloth? Yes I know we have crazy clothing but should you wear those?, ask yourself would Jesus wear this?, would I be able to witness and would people accept my faith while seeing me in the clothing?. If we constantly ask ourselves these questions there would be less naked people and more sons and daughters of Zion in the world. Permit me to give you a story, in a rush to accompany my sister to the motor park I threw on a short dress and left the house, it was until we got to the public that I realized I was very uncomfortable, I think that day was one of worst days of my life, silently praying that none of my church members would see me that day I dragged the gown down to its elastic limit almost becoming plastic I would say, lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ but that was how bad it was. While fidgeting with my gown a question dropped in my mind ” Pekeno this is a good time to share the good news, would you be able to witness like this?, how many people would listen to you? ” I felt bad that day and made a promise not to wear the dress again. The point here is whatever clothing you wear(not crazy ones) wear it with the mindset of Christ’s witness.

2. Note that drawing attention and judging people is not modesty : God is a king so as His children we princes and princesses and so we must dress like that bearing in mind that we mustn’t be extravagant let’s take a look at the British royal family, Katherine duchess of Cambridge and Meghan duchess of Sussex are royalty, dress like royalty yet don’t look extravagant. While on earth Jesus was as humble as a lamb although He was a lion. Don’t judge people because of what they wear if Jesus had judged the world we probably wouldn’t have be saved today so don’t always carry in your mind that people I dress wrong I’m a bad person I too have been guilty of this but anytime I remember my experience at the motor park I then realize that probably others that saw me that day would have judged me as one of the worst sinners ever.

Slaying as believer

1 Tim 2: 9-10, Isa 3:16-25.

This section of the post I’m going to be talking to two believers about slaying while portraying Christ.

  • Good morning ma
  • Good morning
  • Please tell us about your name and a little about yourself
  • I’m Jennifer, I’m a Christian
  • So what do you understand by slaying in this contemporary world?
  • Hmmn, slaying to an average Nigerian regardless of religion means dressing elegant and what is in vogue
  • So would you say slaying is also for christian girls?
  • Hmmn after the definition of slaying what I would say is that christian girls should dress modestly, christian girls should always dress classy and elegant but bearing Christ in mind which allows decency to play.
  • Hmmn I really like the way you put ๐Ÿ˜Šso what is decency/modesty according to you?
  • Modesty is dressing not to create attention
  • So how do we balance dressing modest while looking good
  • What matters is covering your body, don’t look naked while dressed
  • Thank you so much ma it was lovely talking to you but before you go any additional words for our readers?
  • Hmmn, don’t expose sensitive parts of your body. It shouldn’t just be fashion sense but it should be fashion with sense.
  • Good evening ma
  • Good evening dear
  • Please can you tell us your name and a little about yourself?
  • I’m Precious from kogi state, i’m a believer and I believe the manual for every believer is the Bible. I try my best to be what the Bible says I should
  • So what do you understand by the term ‘slaying ‘
  • Slaying means to kill, hit the nail on the head in dressing
  • Lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ what a lovely definition, so if that’s your definition would you say slaying is for Christians?
  • Your motive to slay is what matters, if its just to look then yes if not then no
  • How do we balance slaying with portraying Christ?
  • Be decent and smart, no one likes unkept and indecent people. I think it was Rev Funke Adejumo that asked “between a painted building and an unpainted one which would you choose? ” of course the congregation responded with the painted building and so she concluded with that’s how a girl with makeup and a girl without makeup is. Makeup is good but it shouldn’t be our priority, let God be more than it.
  • Wow ma you have indeed spoken well, it was lovely talking with you any word of encouragement for our readers?
    • In whatever you’re doing for Christ, do not be shy because you are going to stand on that judgment day so do what you’ll be accountable for. Thank you.

So my conclusion is in all your dressing and slaying let’s have the mind of Christ, not being extravagant and still looking good. Just like the Bible passage up there๐Ÿ‘†(in case you didn’t read it, go and read it๐Ÿ˜‘๐Ÿ˜š) we should not always depend on ornaments, makeup, accessories to slay not saying any of these things are bad but God should always be our priority. Have a lovely weekend fam.

Citizen of??

How do I become a citizen of Heaven?

I want to see the streets made of sliver and marble

How do I become a resident of Zion?

I want to see the great walls of Jerusalem

I’m searching for greener pastures

So I can leave this place where I am

But I’m stuck between the walls of sin,

trapped on the streets of mammoth,

enslaved in the dungeons of the earth.

Yet I want to meet the King of the Heavens,

I want to dwell in the presence of the President of the Universe,

I want to have one of the mansions promised to the citizens of Heaven,

I want to have the crowns of gold promised to the heirs of the Kingdom,

I want be a child of the King of Kings,

I want to be called out of every tribe, tongue&language,

I want to be a Royal priesthood, a beacon of hope,

I want to be a Child of Zion #daughter of Zion

Whose citizen do you want to be?

Happy Sunday Fam๐Ÿ’ be blessed as you read and ponder on whose citizen to which you be. Have a blessed week

Salvation Sessions

I was referred to a therapist

They said he was the best, and so?

I took my medical report to him

He said he could cure me

I didn’t believe him, its impossible I said

“With me all things are possible” he replied

I reminded him that I had a case of PTSD and sin disorder

“I can help you” he assured me

And so?

I surrendered, gave him my all

and in turn he gave me a therapy session called Salvation

introduced a teacher named The Holy Spirit

a psychotherapy called Prayer,

an antidepressants called The Bible

and a mood Stabilizer called Faith

I was set free from all sin and illness

and all this was given by Jesus

Happy weekend Fam๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’
